hi
i am currentley at college and interested in becoming a search and rescue pilot but im really not sure what is required and the route i should take.
can anyone help?

You'd have to apply to join as a pilot, and then if you were successful you'd have to hope you got streamed rotary, and if that happened then you'd have to hope you got streamed to SAR.

Military SAR is going through a few changes at the present time, as mentioned you will join to be a Pilot first and then get streamed either, FW, Multis and/or RW. You should also bear in mind that the chances of going SAR as a first tourist are getting very slim so a front line Sqn is very likely.

you will also have to be amazingly fit, meet loads of requirements in terms of height, eye sight etc. know absolutley loads about the RAF and be very intelligent and get through one of the hardest selection processes in the military to become a pilot.
