Further information

Post by Englishman88 »

I received a letter yesterday about my medical, and they require more information.

They require further information on a pilonidal abscess I had about 16 months ago.

Does anyone know if this could stop me from joining?

if I knew what it was ????

ok is it fully healed??? they may ask for an exercise diary for six months showing you free from pain!!!

Remember the diary is from when you started training again NOT FROM THE DATE OF THE LETTER OK

Basically it was from an ingrown hair, all they did was made a little cut to let the puss out and remove the hair.

I never was in any pain and it didn't stop me from working or exercising, and it is fully healed, it was fully healed after a month.

my friend in the Royal Marines had to be back trooped because he had an ingrowing hair oh his arse cheek..
You need to show proof to the medical staff that you dont have this anymore and your pain free etc..

Good luck.

I remember these from training at RNH Plymouth, very common, especially in men with short hair, when its cut it falls down your back and if sat on etc ingrows, also common in sitting down occupations where hairs in the region originally grow in because of pressure. Other causes too but those are the ones I remember.

All they will be worried about is are you prone to them, as the consequences and then treatment is lenghty.

If you shave your balls and crack/back then dont anymore...another cause!

You should be ok and they are just routinely going through the system as you highlighted a condition.

Get yourself a shower scrub to give the area a good scrubbing and dry properly afterward to prevent them as much as possible.

Be honest in replying and they should be ok with you.
