Drop outs during basic
I was going to ask this, like wise at my ADSC, Bunch of 'Epic' chavs turned up phlegming all over the place, smoking not for the wanting to, for the 'I have to or people wont think I'm cool'. Seriously I'd hate to have one of them following along side me from Sunday onwards.

Thanks alot Sandy, them figures are much aprishiatedSandyTheGuvnor wrote:I was on a brief last week and this was one of the topics, here is the percentage of recruits that will eventually pass out after starting basic training.tom163 wrote:This is another one of my random questions that I would like a answer too. During basic Infantry training (i.e not Para or RM) how many drop out? Not that I am in any mind set like that just seeing all the stupid waster chavs on sites like Bebo and places like that saying they are going into basic soon and I really don't want to be serving with people like that.
Cheers
This also includes recruits who get injured/backsquadded and pass out with other platoons than the one they originally started with.
Line Infantry 80%
Royal Marines 60%
Para Regt 25%

Yeah I know what you mean mate. Like said before in here I am sure if any do turn up they will be gone with in the first few weeks
Im sure if they did turn up as a charv, i think with in a couple weeks they will transform, only if they are there for the right reasons anyway.

personally i won't take any notice of these idiots when i go to my ADSC plenty of them round where i stay as there is a heavy gang culture here and 22 years of my life i've managed to avoid it even after friends and my brother were dragged into it, these are the the people who need to earn my respect come basic training if i get there then i will give them the opportunity to earn my respect if not its their loss im there for firstly myself then my fellow soldiers but not the twats who think acting like school kids is still gonna get you the respect you think you deserve.
Survival rate
On a website I was looking at 66% of infantry recruits make it. But this does not include the Parachute Regiment.
Re: Drop outs during basic
back in 2001 we had 58 lads at week 1, and only 16 originals passed out !SandyTheGuvnor wrote:I was on a brief last week and this was one of the topics, here is the percentage of recruits that will eventually pass out after starting basic training.tom163 wrote:This is another one of my random questions that I would like a answer too. Before too many start looking down there noses at 'chavs' remember that is the way on many working class estates. And the working class are the backbone of the British Army. The Infantry especially is full of good young soldiers who have proved themselves in combat who were probably considered to be 'Chavs' at one point. So don't take the p*ss in till you have been there and done it
What are you expecting to see. DPM Hoodies, Burberry Combats, loads of bling over there gloves and along side there Dog Tags.Watching videos of the regiments in Afghanistan and pictures of them on exercises etc don't think I have seen one Chav looking person yet
