I used to produce music of all sorts for around 4 years through the last of my time at collage and finally stopped around a year ago if not less i can't really remember. (just a bit of history for you)

Trance is very minimalist, repetitive kick drums and bass stabs with a riff of an electro lead over the top usually repeats it's self in the style of

1st: Percussion
2nd: Percussion/Bass
3rd: Break
4th: Build
5th: Drop inc Percussion/Bass/Low Lead = ( Riff )

Repeat of 1 - 3 twice then

6th Break: Large lead = ( Riff ) with a Build
7th Drop: Including all the abouve witch is repeated around twice (usually)

Same over and over

Trance Euphoria is a mix of Trance Kicks bass and hooks but has a larger intricate Riff or Lead to it, with a progressive build from the Kicks, all the way to the drop where the big build up will happen, once the build up has happened the hole Track or tune smooths in to 1 long dance section it has the same route as i posted abouve bit with a major difference after the first break, after the first break it leads in to a build so the style is like,

1st: Percussion/Bass
2nd: Percussion/Bass low lead
3rd: Break
4th: Build
5th: Drop inc Percussion/Bass/Low Lead = ( Riff )

The explanation above is to show the difference in production and finished styles. it's a tad more intricate to that but it would be a hoooge long post if i done all the production in written form.

I Like a lot of music, anything that sounds good to me I guess :D
when I was younger I only listened to rap and hard rock, only 5 years ago but over that time I've greatly expanded my music taste, classical, pop, folk, but generally I like hard rock like The Melvins, I like instrumentals. One thing I'm not into is dance music yuck :o

If you check out some clips of Energy 52, and maybe look at Euphoria Cd's, the Euphoria Cd's are constructed with a mix of trance and trance euphoria to really work the listener, usually working from trance to trance euphoria it can take a mixed direction with a start of trance and every other track being t.e so the listener is always wanting more.

I've not got a PhD Ha i've got a Audio masters/engineers qualification, accidentally binned my certificates thou.

Artists (recommended) - Track (recommended)

ASA + S1 - Trance overload
Thrill seekers -
Impact + resist -
Sands + sebastian -
DOC + Ponder -

Anything else?
