Changing cap badges

Post by Coxy14011993 »

If i was in the army in an infantry regiment for say 23 years. Could i then change to Royal Marines? I dont just mean do the all arms commando course. I actually mean in the royal marines. Would I have to leave the army and apply for the navy (royal marines) or could I just do the all arms commando course and become a marine. Or would I have to do the whole 32 weeks training and start the application process from the beginning?

thankyou

I 'believe' if you're AACC trained you can transfer across without having to go through training. If not, you can transfer, your competency in certain skills will be assessed to determine whereabouts you join a troop in training. Most lads opt to start from the start if going this route tho, better bonding and you can be seen as a bit of an outsider if you start halfway through.

If you're talking only 2 or 3 years down the line, why not apply to the Corps now?
