Anyone attending on this day?

I'm soo gonna be the grandad of the group at 28 years old

Aiming to get into RLC, struggling with my run times at the moment but going to the gym daily.

Look forward to hearing from some of you

just got back from adsc lichfield yesterday mate, and most people there were mid twentys, even someone 28!

There's nothing to be worried about though, its not as hard to pass as they make out, as long as your not a complete mong. The corprols are top blokes as well.

when your out practising your running make sure you throw in a couple of good 3milers per week, will make the 1.5m run seem like fcuk all.

Hello sims, this is a post made by me and a lad who tended ADSC the other month

http://www.mfat.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... 3&start=60

Check it out, it's got a heads up for you to look at how things will come at you on the day also check out

It isn't 100% accurate but also gives you a good heads up.

Quick run through of whats to come on monday.

* Get picked up from train station (make sure its lichfield trent valley, not lichfield city!) then you arrive at the barracks, and everyone gets a bib with there number on it which is your new name. Then a quick drill on formation & marching.

*Most of the day is waiting around for your medical, which is nothing to worry about, apart from maybe the infamos "Drop 'n' Cough". Then lunch time.

*Next up was the icebreaker, there is a board with questions on, and you just run through it answering each one. Easy as pie, and its 2-3mins tops.

*Off for the upper body strengh next, also a brezze, and takes about 10mins (practice heaves before though). followed by the jerry can carry, which i think everyone passed. Then you will probably have a talk about the army.

*It will be quite late by now, and you go for some PT which is a very knackering work out. This is followed by dinner, then a grenade lesson.
Shower and lights out by 23:00

*Day 2, you have to be ready bags packed, room spotless, and in reception by 06:00. Have brekie, then the grenade test. 10 questions, v.easy.

*The run starts around 08:00, a quick 800m warm up then 4 laps around part of the camp (only if its to wet for the field). 110% effort for this.

*Then you move on to, practice grenade throwing, takes bout 20mins, no problem there.

*Team tasks, Probalby the most important of all follows. You get in to your sections of about 7people (they tell you your sections on the 1st day) and you have to compete against another, to complete 4 team tasks. Win or lose it means JACKSH!T, just let them know your working as a team. So just shout out loads of bullsh!t on every task, and GET INVOLVED.

*Lunch is after, then you get about 6mins for a shave, shower and change into your suit for the interview. You then go back to the cinema, where the top tog will talk to everyone about the army for about an hour.

Thats about it mate, thought id do a write up, as it helped me when i passed selection on monday, and good luck.
