I just passed my ADSC mate and the most important thing is team tasks. The trip from grimsby is quite a long one, Grimsby - Sheffield - Tamworth - Lichfield took about 4 hours 30mins on way there and 6hours on way back. You do alot of waiting with the medical. Want to know anything just ask ( seen as youll be going to same ADSC )

is the final interview long? or do they already have an answer for you

anything i should know about the team tasks before i go?

Thanks mate, train time passes fast on the way there anyway just horrible on way back.

The only people that got defeered was in medical & on the 1.5mile run. As far as i know nobody got defeered due to upper body strength. I did 9, as long as you just dig deep and pull till your arms feel like there going to drop off and you can see that in your face im sure you will be fine. Team tasks was the best bit about ADSC, there is 4 different tasks and there things such as there is a 12 foot scaffolding log, use that to get 7 of you across to the other side with 2 jerry cans and an ammo box but there are rules like; don't touch the floor, only 3 people on 1 stub at a time. Main tips are Listen to what the instructors tell you and make sure you get your 3minute plan (before each task) straight and easy to understand and make sure everybody knows there role etc, and dont be quiet on team tasks shout instructions about shout help about, keep everybody fired up. To be honest with the ice-breaker it was not bad at all, i was the very last person and i can't even remember what i said 5minutes after lol, you just kind of get lost in it really and talk about rubbish. All in all the icebreaker isn't bad at all, everybodys doing it some are shy than others but your all in the same boat. The final interview is 5minutes long if that, make sure you know about each 3 of your job choices. Where basic is done, how long for, where phase 2 is, what will you be doing in phase 1 and phase 2, were may you be posted after training. They obviously know if youv'e passed or not but still sell yourself in the interview, if you pass you get a green certificate of acheivment and a book and dvd on training. As for the intake date im not sure as yet, its been 1 week tomorrow since i passed. My recruiter rang me up the monday just gone, said hes got my info and am i ok to forward my application and accept the job offer; obviously i said yeah and he said he is sending some info in the post so im just waiting. If nothings here tomorrow im going to ring, i think the next thing is to take an oath.

With the 1.5mile run i got a not so amazing time of 11:15, as i was going for infantry i had 12:45 to do it but 11:15 isnt an amazing time. But for what i lacked on the 1.5mile run i made for in upper body strength, 10/10 on grenade test & the team tasks. I have to attend a 2 week course before my ITC so ill be doing 28 weeks not 26 weeks but the recruiter told me this is a plus so if you get told you have to attend it, don't worry :).

Ok here goes, i went to the same ADSC as Adam..

Heaves, you should try do atleast one.

no you can't be deffered for beeing unable to a heave.

the finall interview is short 4 - 5 mins, (You must be able to give them some information reguarding you're chosen regiments.. You must know most about youre 1st and 2nd, the 3rd doesn't matter they all know it's just a name on a pice of paper that you dont realy want to join but just put it.

Team task's you must talk!! shout!! anything and everything, they like to hear alot of well dones, great ideas! congratulations, do not calll any one any names for f@#k up or they will fail you.. and i mean FAIL not deffered, well our WO1 and WO2 said fail so hope you dont get them. lol

Ice breaker is great, i got a massive score for making every one laugh, dont be nervouse dont say UMMM between everything you say dont hinder one any one subject to long.. talk clear!

Youre usually issued a intake date by youre recruiter at the ACIO, im going in on the 22nd of FEB, but i have the option to go on the 25th of january.. but i've chosen 22nd FEB.. you can phone youre ACIO now and ask for the latest intake dates..

Hope it helps. what you joining when and where? send me a PM

Yeah pretty much everything written above. Do you have to attend the 2 week course before it begins josh? I do, but if you do and you get the 22nd date do you attend 14 days before 22nd or is the 22nd the 14 days before if you get me?
