Hi Guys,

I have been reading through a lot of the posts and they have been really helpful , thought i should introduce myself, I'm Lou , 21 and i want to join the army.

I am finding the running the hardest anyone got any tips and are there any girls on here!! :)

Hello mate, im Josh.. im about to partake in my ADSC (Army development & selection centre) im hoping to join ither the rifles, para, or guards.

The link abouve is to a recent fitness post, good tips for cardio, it's not about runing its about how long and how fast you are.. so get the cardio right the feet will follow.

There are a fiew girls in here i think.

Lol beat me to it Josh, i was about to post the same link. Best thing to do is not think about it but just go out and do it, only way you can pass. Theres a good book by Adrian Weale called fighting fit the sas training fitness guide, good book full of tips. Eating healthy has its part in running also, keep hydrated and get some protein down you. Try a tin of tuna a day, full of protein.

Ok thanks for the advice guys! i am hoping to join the veterinary corps, i am looking forward to my selection but not sure if i will be fit enough by the time it comes, they have told me i might go in January, but I'd prefer march, meaning my selection will be before Christmas.

WRITTEN MEDICAL: COLLECTING TODAY HOPEFULLY!!

It all depends when the Vets intake is, im going to ITC training Catterick in january, i think you should push hard for january incase you go, if you don't that means you will be more than fit for the VC
