4 Para Intake

Post by Fivefour »

Alright all,

Anyone going on the next 10 coy intake and if so would you know if it's too late to get on it? I've left a message with the unit and should be getting some info through but wondered if anyone on here was going?

Any info on the weekends would be good too!

Cheers

There's still time (just) - so keep calling the office until they get back to you!

There was an induction day on Saturday just gone. Basically a load of paperwork, some intro to unit and what activities it engages in, plus a 1.5 mile run and max sit-ups/press-ups. Don't worry though - it was just done as an introduction rather than being a pass or fail event. The cadre intake begins in January (weekend #1 being the 23rd to 25th). There are eleven weekends scheduled, with CIC & P-Coy due to take place at the end of July/start of August (looks like they're increased the number of weekends in total, I think previous cadres had 9 rather than 11?).

However, you'll need to get yourself on an ADSC event, and there are only two available between now and then! They are November 15/16 or November 29/30. And before you can go on an ADSC, you'll need a form signed off by your GP - only 4 PARA can get you this paperwork, so as I said earlier, keep chasing...

Hope this helps,

Joe,

Top man, I'll keep trying!

Whats the deal with the ADSC, does everyone who goes on the course have to go on one of these? Are there pass/fail tests on these and does it have to be completed if you go to an induction day with the unit?
