Hi guys! Just finished my PRTC yesterday so I thought I'd let you know how it goes:
Day 1 is mainly briefs, a bit of paperwork, you get issued with overalls which you will wear over your clothes most of the two days. After the briefs, you go down to the Regt guys for a walk around and some more info, you then get issued with your boots so you have time to break them in before you start training. After that, some more briefs and then dinner. In the evening, you have a social event where you have a couple of hours to mingle and meet everyone as well as people who have already passed out.
Day 2 get up at 5 / 5:30, breakfast and then the fitness test which is bleep test, situps and pressups, after this, more briefs, lunch and some more briefs.
The best advice I could give you is:
Make sure you don't have a bad attitude because it will seriously go down like a turd sandwich!!!
Don't chat when you are outside - seriously don't even be tempted as the Cpls will come down on you like a tonne of bricks!
LISTEN and do as you are told, the first time!
As for the gym on day two - you'll be expected to run everywhere, no walking, don't fold your arms or put your hands on your hips otherwise you'll get extras!
A bit of advice, I'd take an extra shirt with you as on day 1, you arrive in your smarts, then go change into something comfy under your overalls and then after that you have to change back into your smarts for the evening - you also have to wear your smarts AGAIN before you leave!
Hope this helps also - just try and do loads of fitness because it will be really good if you can pass the fitness test when you are there! That's 9:10 on the bleep test, 20 press ups and 35 sit ups
Any questions, please feel free to ask
To sum it up though - it has only concreted my want to join the RAF I loved every minute of it and was gutted that I now have to wait another 6 weeks before I can start lol!! On the plus side though, I've got 6 weeks to get fit fit fitter!!! Enjoy it!

I think there was about 150 people there roughly. Some of which are all starting at different times but for us girls there were around 30 of us in total, we are all starting on Nov 12th.
I found the fitness test a little difficult but to be honest it was nerves and everything. I'm glad I did it as I know that I have 6 weeks to try and really improve. It isn't a pass or fail but it gets marked down so they can see how much you improve in between. I got through the bleep test but only managed 3 press ups (highly embarrassing lol) and 17 situps. I think for men it is 9.10 on bleep test, 20 press ups and 35 sit ups
Food was ok to be honest, I didn't mind it at all. Just think of school dinners (depending how long ago you attended school!!)
Have you got dates yet Brett?
