I'd like to thank all the organisers of this event for what was a truly excellent day!
To Sandy, your a bloody loon mate! Hats off to you and you have my deppest respect, very well done!
There was some serious money raised today for a very worthy cause, which was in a word, excellent. Well done all!
Now to the Paras themselves, I honestly dip my cap to you all, it takes some serious balls to do P Coy etc.

hi all. completed the p company challenge. 1 hour 50 mins bang on so im rather happy. my boots had loads of blood in them at the end. the skin had completely worn away from heels and they were both bleeding. i felt it happen at the 4 mile point. i must have putty feet. what a great day though. great atmosphere and so friendly. that last hill nearly killed me. i wanted to get my climbing gear out. met some great blokes on the way round and had a good laugh. see you all again next year

What a great event - I hope it does become an annual event, as I only found out about it a week ago and did not have sufficient time to practice with a pack on, and had new boots too. (I could have done the run, but I would have regretted it on the day - you have to push yourself, eh!!). Next time I will do a few more hills with a pack as practice, as I don't think I saw another flat piece of ground once we left the start/finish area.
The event was very well run, and thanks to all the organisers/staff who were involved. The lads out on the course really helped with the odd bit of encouragement at times when you needed it. They knew what you were going through and it showed.
I met and chatted to a few people on the course, some were either still in, had been in, and some were civvies who fancied a challenge. Everyone was friendly and suprisingly cheerful.
Great day out, and I will see you there next year!!!

PS Fancy putting that Nod Hill near the end - is that someones idea of a joke!!

Too right I did!!!
Well, I had been sent some really quite nasty PM's from people on ARRSE, who had threatened to shoot & stab me at this race!!
(It got so bad, ARRSE admin terminated my account, I believe to try & "lose" the evidence. Great isn't it. These people are still free to use that Forum, whilst I am kicked off for doing absolutely nothing wrong.)
So when I heard this voice behind me on the race saying "You must be Ria. I know some things about you........" I got a bit worried!!
This nice hunky young man appeared, but refused to tell me who he was, & ran off!! I caught him up, & he revealed he was Kieran! Phew.....
All these pathetic gutless cowards on Forums that hide behind screen names, threatening women, make me sick.
People may not like the idea of me wanting to do a documentary, but if such people spent 5 minutes talking to me face to face, I think they'd see I am a perfectly nice human being, & not deserving of all the nasty remarks that are going round Catterick about me, thanks to ARRSE.
I'll do a little write-up on the race later.
It was such a GREAT day. So well organised & a fab atmosphere.
I only managed around 2 hours 18, but my hip had been so bad beforehand that I really thought I'd be walking the whole thing in over 3 hours. So to finish 40 mins faster than I was expecting was a big relief.
I hope everyone that entered achieved the results they wanted.
(Ps. Cardsharpe is very cute!!
Folks, the results are up on SportsSystems.net.

Para's 10 race
You know what they'll say when they read that, after all that other grief as well!Ria wrote:This nice hunky young man appeared, but refused to tell me who he was, & ran off!! I caught him up, & he revealed he was Kieran! Phew.....

The race itself, your time maybe wasn't as bad as you were thinking. Try not to be so self deprecating and give yourself a pat on the back. At least you made the effort and ran the race, unlike some.
All the best.

I would hope they'll be flattered, & think it's funny!Patrick wrote:[

(Although I'm old enough to be their mum.......
After all the muppets I've encountered on here & ARRSE, it was nice to finally meet up with some decent people off these Forums.
