Running/Post Run

Post by Scotty123 »

Hey.

Well...
Lately after going for runs, my leg muscles(mainly my quads) seize up leaving me not able to run for a few days.

Does anyone have ideas/tips on how to stop other than warming up and cooling down because ive done that for the past 4 months of training, yet just lately my legs are really sore the day after a run.

Would an ice-bath work?

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :D

I've read quite a few suggestions previously for this and ice bath was mentioned as was having a hot shower as warm as you can take then put it right down to cold keep doing that for a bit. L-Glutamine i believe also helps with muscle ache. Ensure your doing good warm-up, cool down and stretching for starters.

I actively warm up for about 15 mins before i run and stretch for the same length of time after running.

I've played rugby for 10 years and took A - level P.e so my warm up's are fine because i do the same one that I've used for years.

What's L-Glutamine?

I suppose if all else fails maybe a sports massarge around the affected area. I have never had one but plenty of athletes have them so must be good.
