Brillant tool from the mod

Post by Patrick »

There's a brilliant official tool that shows you actual short video clips of how all of the exercises and warm ups are done with correct form, tips and everything. Press ups are done with your abdominals and legs held stiff, completely flat as a plank of wood with only your arms bending during the rep.

It'll ask you for a short registration of email and name and then just pick and choose what you want to know. These are the marine way but unless I'm mistaken, you won't go far wrong doing your phys the marine way. Like with the pull ups, the more you practice them the better your form.

You only need to worry about the "style" of your press ups if you're joining the Marines, in the Paras and the rest of the Army as long as you are doing them correctly you can have your elbows in any position you like.

I find I can do Marine style easier than when I do them with my elbows out wide for some reason.

That's because you're using different muscles ;) If I remember correctly, RM style pressups are an entirely tricep exercise whereas the style you're talking about uses the pectorals. OR I could be chatting shit, which wouldn't be the first time... Did I ever tell you about my date with Halle Berry? 8) 8)
