Yeah I was thinking something a bit more serious Stoke's but despite how silly that is, you have a point too.

Anyway, crack on all.

Ok having read the differences between the 2 i am a little confused. I understand what each are but what are the advantages between doing fartlek or interval. They both seem great for building cardio but why would you pick one or the other?

i would personaly pic fartlek just because you can run your normal route and do it, as appose to running round a 600m route and having a break, with fartlek you can just do it on your usual 3/6 mile route and plus you have no breaks inbetween sprints.

Interval training is structured. eg. jog 2 mins then sprint for 30 secs, jog 2 min.....etc
Fartlek is more sprint when you feel like it, recover when you feel like it. Fartlek is great for an unconditioned body as it can be a bit less intense.
With interval training, you decide what your doing before hand and do it regardless of whether you think youve had enough rest or not. Tougher workout but unfit people might struggle.
