I'm 16 and ive just put my application in to join the RM so i still have a long way to go but i just want to know if anyone can give me some advice on how to increase my upper body strength. I'm new to the forum so any advice would be really appreciated.thanks. :D

Focus on sit ups , pull ups and press ups ...thats it .Use the search button to find good training programs for the above.
He who deliberates fully before taking a step will spend his entire life on one leg.

Bodyweight excercises are the best and cheapest - so push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups. There's also other stuff like tricep dips and squats, you don't need to buy fancy weight sets at all.

Or you could simply go onto the royal marine website www.royalmarine.mod.uk and they have good training programmes on there and nutritional information hope this helps mate.

Some squats wouldn't help and neither would some back exercises to help with the rope climbs.
