fitness

Post by djmattyg64 »

I'm in the process of applying to join the army, however. due to my eyesight I dont think I will get in.

Either way I need to get fit, I have tried all ways but cannot seem to do this.

At the present time I can run for 2 mins then need to take a breather, I am eating and exercising accordingly to the army website but need help to obtain the good running times that have been quoted that I need to achieve.

Can anyone help me out please?

Thanks in advance.

Dont lie, if you had tried following a fitness program and eating properly you would have seen improvements.

whats your height and weight?

Brisks, is that your medically qualified opinion?

As for you djmattyg64, gains dont come instantly unfortunately. You have to stick with it and gradually improve over time. You may just be over pacing yourself. On your next run, lower the pace. Dont feel, that because you arent knackered, that you haven't done a good session. For example, Kelly Holmes does regular sessions whereby her heart rate barely raises but she keeps that same pace for a good two hours. Give it a gander and see how you get on.

He said hes tried all ways of getting fit, he obviously hasnt tried the eating healthy foods and gradual progession with exercise or he would have improved which is why I called him a liar.

Day 1
3 sets of push ups throughout day
3 sets of pull ups throughout day
3 sets of sit ups throughout day

Try and add 2 repetitions every week for push ups and sit ups

Day 2
3 mile jog

try and decrease your time every time you run.

Then alternate between them two with a day off each week.

Eat starchy carbs, fruit, veg and lean meat, dont be afraid to eat lots as long as its healthy. Don't smoke and only drink in moderation.

If you follow that you can fail it dosent take much.

Not being funny but you dont really know me and you are calling me a liar??? sorry but thats a bit harsh

anyway, I'm not here to be moaned at, I'm here for advice on the above.

I think my problem is like posted above, I am thinking it will happen overnight..will jogging for a minute and then 1 minute off for 3 miles do any good or will jogging for 2 and then 2 off be better as at 2 its hurting my shins which this forum has gained me some good info

I am eating a lot of starchy foods like said and red meat also I dont smoke and hardly drink so I dont know where I'm going wrong apart from the asking for it to happen overnight

if you run for one minute then take one minute off then next time you run, run for 1 minute and take 55 seconds off then thats fine, but you need to keep progessing.
