Transfer to Infantry?

Post by britisharmy1 »

Hello, just out of curiosity I'm joining the army air corps, and theres no turning back now, I already made my final decision upon re-enlistment, anyway to the point... Is it true I wouldn't be able to transfer to an infantry regiment because that would be <in quote> ''lowering standards''?! I've suddenly had a big urge to join the lads at the royal anglian regiment not straight away, but once ive settled down for about a year in the army air corps.

Can I summarise your posts and therefore the background you have painted of yourself to date.

You joined up, Ex Mrs was wearing the trousers so you bailed out (of the relationship and the forces) and are now re-enlisting (all before 18 years old)

You are offering other people looking to join up advice based on your vast experience.

You have requested info on SAS and/or SF attachments within the AAC and are now looking at giving the AAC about 12 months or so of your attention and then banging in a transfer to the infantry?

In light of all these posts could I say one thing.......

Farking grow up.

You are coming across as a complete plank and have no grounds to be offering advice to others as you have No/None/Squat experience apart from the recruitment process, which now you are seriously undermining based on the fact you cant make a decision or settle.

You will seriously pisss people off if this atitude continues once you re-enlist and will achieve fark all.

AAC is a fine branch of the service with many opportunities and have been nice enough to give you another crack at the whip.

As for SF, with the maturity you are showing you will need to be 45 before they would even look at you, by which point you should have served with every unit in the Army and put the RAF and RN/RM in order as well.

Wind it in ffs

In your profile you say that you have "nearly" joined up. May I suggest that you go one better and join up. Then you will discover what you can and cannot do within the Armed Forces.

Just asking all these questions on my behalf because yes i am unsure as too many people are throwing randomness, one half saying the AAC is a bag of shite and other half saying that you will get to go out and see some action... just cant pick which ones to believe, but yeah ill do what any normal person does and find out rather than asking people over a computer..
