Welcome, why the change in career? I recently missed out on a Job Fire Fighting for L&B. Came to the decision that the forces would give me plenty of "life experience" and fully prepare me for any future application. One of my friend also recently left the Army for a career with the Fire Dep.

sorry if i'm being mega thick here ( my first time on one of these forums)
but could some kind soul tell me how you pick up a piece of
text from a previos post to put in the white box in your own reply so people know which bit your replying to.
have tried allsorts to make this work. have read most asked questions but nothing there. sure there's info somewhere on all this but i can't find it.
having trouble navigating my way round too. ended up on paras site-joining and training, but can i find my way back there, no.
sorry again for being thick, i'll soon figure it all out i hope.

Hello col, have always wanted to join up but wanted
to wait until a bit more life experience, time then just ticked away.
fed up with my job as all we seem to do is go on false shouts
then get hassle and abuse from yobs.

In the Right hand corner of everybody's post is a button with 'Quote' on it. Click on it.
Welcome to the site. :D

Friendly advice would to put in punctuation and grammer into all your posts, capital letters in right places (definetly no text talk!), it makes your posts easier to read for all and will get you more replies.

Hi Just me, Thanks mate. I found the quote button
but that seems to pick up the whole post. How do you
pick up say, one line. Tried highlighting the bit I wanted
then clicked quote, but didn't seem to work.
Just found the bit at the bottom that lets you
navigate, bisto, I was looking at top of page.
I'm rubbish at stuff like this

You'll get the text box with the whole of the quote in it. From there you just delete the bits you don't want, keep the quote tags in though!

An alternative is to highlight the bits of somebody's post you wnat to quote and copy it (Crtl + C). When you get to a 'Post a Reply' page (done by clicking Post at the bottom of the screen), there is a toolbar above the text box (with options for Bold, Colour Changes ect,) click 'Quote' then paste what you have copied earlier (Crtl + V), then click Quote again (it should say *Quote). All in all the 1st version is easier but if you must use the second one that's fine too. 8)

As for looking to which Regiment/Forces to join, don't let anybody tell you which one to join, it is your choice. Look around and ask the right questions about different careers in the Army (or Navy or Airforce) and you'll find the right job for you. There's plenty of info here and also the AFCO (Recruiting Office). Good luck on your hunt!

Thanks mate. I change my mind all the time,
so have never joined up til I'm sure.
My dream would be the Marines, but I've never been any good at
running long distance, so don't think I could complete
the training. I'm well strong, but no matter how hard I train,
I never get any good at running. Pehaps I'm too
big, 16 stone, but I just can't get past about 8 miles.
I actually seem to get worse the more I train.
i can't lose much weight as it's mainly muscle
not flab and I like my build as it is.
