We're not doubting that leg strengthening exercises aren't beneficial to those with knee injuries. The point is the brooksey told the original poster to do squats when he has not examined the knee in question, let alone whether he is at all qualified to advise on knee problems in the first place. A knee injury on one person is not the same knee injury as on the other. If you follow brooksey's (or anyone who gives specific medical advice over the internet) without seeking inspection from a specialist then perhaps you deserve the potential for chronic knee problems.To be fair I Have seen guys with knee injuries being told to do squats. They initially start them unweighted with a swiss ball against a wall abd build from there.
