I have just started RT and I can't touch my toes without bending my knees, I also have a curved spine and they gave me the go ahead
The only thing I thing you will strugle with is rope climbing, flexibility would make it easier, but you'll be fine for your medical and PRMC.

Bend over and try to touch your toesPendo wrote:Anyone got any tips on exercies which will allow me to touch my toes?
Personally think that there’s little point in spending time training to touch your toes... there are much more important things to focus on when preparing for the Marines. I'd just touch my toes as a hamstring stretch before running etc
I know it's not my place to say this really as I’ve never been to CTC but in my opinion you should stop worrying about such trivial things as all it will do is give you more things to worry about... it's not something that’s required for PRMC as far as I’m aware
All the best

Hmmmmm... an interesting one this.
One of the reasons for my injury is poor flexibility in my hips. A mate of mine is in Hunter because he broke his pelvis (again) one of the reasons is poor flexibilty. He couldn't touch his toes... As in almost a foot away. Now he's getting sports massages he can now touch his toes and his recovery is speeding up massively.
I doubt touching your toes is a requirement to start RT... And I'm not saying you have to be as flexible as a ninja, but it is something to bear in mind. The more flexible you are, the less injuries you'll pick up.

I can't touch my toes and it hasn't done me any harm! I wouldn't worry about small things like that, infact I wouldn't bother worrying at all, I used to worry loads about training and getting injure and stupid things like that, but as the old saying goes, 'worrying is like a rocking chair, its something to do but it gets you nowhere', just concentrate on putting 100% into everthing, even touching your toes
We are what we do
