Is AFC really that bad

Post by just_me »

Can somebody who has actually been to the AFC please tell me what it's like going there because I have heard many mixed opinions about it. By the way I'm aiming to join the paras. Thanks in advance.

I went in 2004, it's not bad but adult training especially paras won't be an easy ride either way, that.s the whole point... to pin point the determined to the not so determined.
I left I admit but wish I never did now as all my mates I went in with are all fully trained up and now serving within their regiments... one thing I really HATED about the AFC was more education things as I just left school (obviously the AFC is for school leavers) and doing maths, english and i.t all over again was so degrading when I really would rather be outdoors doing more combat side of things. I went in for the Guards and then got my run time down so well that I was going to transfer to Para, if you don't mind more education when you only just left school then it's alright.
