Training Update

Post by sterion66 »

1.5 mile warmup complete
1.5 mile run 9m 14s
40 situps in 2 mins(25 with 2litre squash bottle)

Trying to simulate already being tired and as you can see the run time was too close and situps were a failure. Poor runtime due to cardio rather than legs and situps just something I need to improve on.

I will keep trying to improve before ADSC though be gutted to fail after training for so long.

I'm pretty sure I've said this to you before but I'll say it again YOU DON'T DO SIT UPs AT ADSC.

No worries mate, try not to fret about things, it's a waste of energy

Just concentrate on getting your run time down, but bare in mind that 9:14 is a pass.

I've just passed ADSC; 9.46 run time. 12 heaves, 118kg static lift, 96kg back extension.

Rather than open a new thread thought I'd stick it here. Each lap is circa 1.45 miles

Lap Time - Total Time
Lap 1 - 12m 31s - 12m 31s (warmup)
Lap 2 - 12m 09s - 24m 40s
Lap 3 - 10m 10s - 34m 50s
Lap 4 - 8m 40s - 43m 30s
Lap 5 - 11m 54s - 55m 24s (cool down)

Completed stretches first and a mobility warmup. Lap 2 legs started tightening up a little though so maybe needed to extend warmup/stretching. Finished with a 1 mile walk last lap had blister on my left foot though. Guess my foot is still too soft skinned :) Feel I could have pushed harder on lap 4 too so all in all very pleased. Seems training since August last year has done me some good.

What do these involve? Why are these necessary for the Para's but not the Marines?

Something to keep you going.

Maybe so they have some figures for the different areas of strength in the body. Marines do PRMC where the staff can access first hand. Just a guess though
