Has anybody joined the SBS or SAS from the Royal Navy (Not including Marines or divers)?

Yes, to both SAS and SB. Radio Operators spring to mind, from 148 Cdo.

I was told a story once by one of the DS on the jungle phase of selection and it was the first one to have a matelot on it. The then RSM wasnt to chuffed to having a matelot nearly in the Regiment and on turning up at the location asked to where said matelot was currently located.

DS in question pointed him up a clearing in the bush and the RSM went off to look for jack.

On finding him the RSM was heard to say "Farking matelots are only good for three things.....rum, bum and baccy!!!"

Jack replies "Well Sir, I don't drink or smoke, but if you want your arse shagged I'm your man!"

He went on to pass selection, the RSM took awhile to recover from the giggles. :lol:
