Quick question

Post by Pendo »

Not really a question about the RMs, but I can't find a police forum anywhere.

Sooo... If I came out of the Marines would it be easier for me to get a job as maybe an armed response police officer?

How about concentrating on getting in the marines first?

It might give you a slight edge.. but I don't think you can actually join straight as armed response; you have to get selected for it. Therefore it probably depends on your reports through them and your aptitude displayed on their tests.

If you want to be armed response in the police, why bother going through the Marines first?

Because I want to got in the marines, its all I concentrate in school for, but I was thinking if I dont like it. I could do my service then maybe try and get another job kind of like that.

Try concentrating on school, grammar & spelling first, then the female of the species as and when your balls drop. If you hack them then start thinking about the Royal Marines because from what you have said so far I reckon you need to grow up a tad Mr Pendo.

Yeah, because the internet is such a serious place?

So I made a couple of errors, no need to start pulling out insults is there?

How on earth would you know if my balls have dropped? You could not possibly know.

I've thought very long and hard about the Royal Marines mate. Alot about the other forces aswell. I need to grow up? You don't even know me. Oh and please spare me all this, ' I'm going to counter your post with some errors you have made and some criticism of you, this criticism being totaly unreliable ofcourse because I really don't have a clue about you.'

Nicee onee.

Pendo, quite a few lads who leave the Corps end up as coppers but I remember a few applying and saying that it might be easier to get in the fuzz if you have some kind of 'minority' angle rather than a stereotypical forces background like the armed forces. Good effort being attracted to the Corps and good luck with it all.

Read what I wrote. I was being polite. Far to many come on here with daft questions about the Corps. My first kneejerk reaction was to Lock the thread. But no I've left it open.

And I Am Not Your Mate Sunshine!!!!!

Check out http://www.policecouldyou.co.uk/

Ask them if any previous military exp. would be preferable.

Sully. You are infact correct about it being an a in grammar, unless you are unfortunately from across the pond (we shall now bow our heads in pity for Wholley) because they spell it with an e if I remember correctly. I try not to though, can't taint this pure bred Brit.

Pendo,

Check out this link for a police forum
http://www.police-recruitment.com/one2/forum/index.php

Also, I have a mate who's in the Police and he's going for Firearms at the moment. He told me that the Firearms people don't tend to like forces backgroud applicants. This of course doesn't mean you're doomed to fail if you apply with a forces backgroud, but certianly don't think it'll help you much. Anyway this was just his opinion. But he's been with the Police for 5 years and knows his way around.

Regardless, if you join the Police you'll have to wait at least 3 years before you can specialise with something like firearms etc while you gain experience as an Police Officer.
