I join basic training in just 2months and would like any help on what fitness I can do to best ready myself for whats ahead. I'm transfering from the Navy. My fitness level is good but could always do with improvement.
Link in my sig has a very good pre-depot work out routine from a member currently serving in the Para Reg (I believe) and it was the routine he used prior to starting... It certainly looks to me as though it covers everything you should need prior to your transfer...
Obviously take not the Bergen workout is without running, being a transfer from the Navy I'd assume you had some fitness knowledge anyway and will do most (all) of your workouts safely.

Normally you type in www.mfat.co.uk and it automatically creates the link, to MFAT. If you want normal text to appear as the link select the text and click the url tag up above the message, it will then make your text look like this Text, if inside the first bracket you type your web address eg. url=www.mfat.co.uk then the selected text will become the link to that site Text You can obviously then just add any text you want in between the url tags

Thanks for your advice guy's. Sorry its taken so long to respond but got called away with work. Will defintely have a look at that at work, yes being in the Navy means I do have the safety side of fitness well drilled into my head. I've also been told by a friend that I should get a couple of high weight tabs of around 15 miles in to know what to expect, any advice on that and on how much weight I should be tabbing with??
Thanks again guys
Thanks again guys
I'm not sure how transfering from the Navy to Para Reg would work...
If you're to do full recruit training as normal I wouldn't bother with weight/tabbing, that will be built up throughout training...
If you just do All Arms Pcoy take advice from a military PTI, I don't think advice on tabbing and carrying high weight should be taken from here. The risk of injury can be bad if done incorrectly, so my bet is your PTI would be the best to discuss that point with.

I've served 5 years so am able to pyt my notice in to leave, the transfer works along a simial line. I put in for early release inview with joining the Paras, the Navy contacted the Army and imforded them of my interest in transfering into the Paras. In turn they asked for my medical and service records, once they received them the army contacted me and asked why i wanted the transfer and how soon i could get released from my unit. Sat my interview and medical at a career's center and then spoke to my ship which gave me a release date which is on a sunday and the Army gave me a start date which starts on the monday, then on to basic to complete all of the Paras basic training. Once released from Thr Navy i lose all connection with them. Sorry if i wrote it a little long winded.
