life as a combat medic

I'm considering becoming a combat medical technician but I want to know more about what the jobs like when you're not at war from anyone who has any experience in this. What is your day to day job when your not at war and spend all your time at base?

I believe the Army online recruiters have several medical personnel so I would recommend having a chat with them.
