RT 10/12/2007

Post by ofens »

Hi all,
I start RT tomorrow and just wanted to write a post to express thanks to this forum and those who contribute to it.

I started training and studying for RM in Feb this year and I have really benefitted from what I've read on here.
I hope that I shall be able to help others who were in my position.

Best wishes, and I hope to be able to let you know how I'm doing soon!

So far so good! Foundation completed and it's hard but good.
Lots of rushing around trying to get things right. You quickly find out who joined because they really want it and who joined because their dad thought it would be a good idea :P

So far we have been in trouble quite a few times mainly due to guys who probably don't really want to be there enough messing up.
You make friends quickly when you're all crammed in together and doing everything together.
Nothing bad has happened and I'm happier than ever to have joined.

The training team don't take any s*** (rightly so if you consider what they go through to get to where they are) and all seem very professional and knowledgeable.
I'm looking forward to going back for more. :D

Excellent! Good to hear it's going well.

Do you start back after the weekend?

Christmas is over lads! Deep breath before I get back on the train...

Did some circuit training and a couple of light runs to start getting back into some kind of shape that does not resemble everything I've consumed recently!
However I know we're gonna get thrashed first week back anyway

So really I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine and the excitement of getting things done, getting fitter, being busy, learning etc.
I've been bored and restless the last week or so.
It was strange being in for two weeks, just getting to grips with a few things, then suddenly back out again and doing the whole Christmas thing! But at least that's 2 weeks out of 32 ticked off 8)

Happy new year to you all and I look forward to catching up with what you've all been up to in a few weeks.
Until then...
This is my iron. There are many others like it but this one is mine. Without my iron, I am nothing!

Finished week 5, which included ex Quick Cover; wet n dry is nowhere near as bad as it probably could be!
We haven't been doing as much PT as I thought. Drill is great, I enjoy it and think I am quite good at it.
We started with 56 blokes in December and now have just 40 left!

I've had some really, really bad days and sometimes I think they pick on you specifically to test your commitment and determination... I've had some really good days too that make it all worthwhile.
