You didnt want anyone to understand your post, you just wanted to show off your long winded explanation and knowledge in my opinion. Which isn't helpful.

So I'll repeat myself, it's common knowledge that if you eat lots of protein and lots of starchy carbs and do lots of heavy dynamic weight lifting that you will gain muscle mass pretty fast (by this I mean in about 3 months you will be making decent gains), you will also put on some fat, but most people who lift weights eat like monsters while they put on bulk then they cut weight to try loose the fat they put on bulking up.

So my advice is too eat lots of white meat, eat lots of green food and eat lots of bread, pasta (wholemeal) ect. Then go and lift heavy weights.

Well he does seem pretty deluded, so maybe he already has.

I'm sure we'll all find out soon enough, when he comes back to inform me that I'm a twat.

I understood it and I’m a 15 year old GCSE student with no qualifications what so ever (admittedly I'm interested in Sports, sports science, nutrition, etc)... but with a bit of research what Spence said could be easily "decrypted"

Not being argumentative, just saying...
(by this I mean in about 3 months you will be making decent gains)
What do you also mean by decent gains... admittedly someone who is new to training (specifically weight training for hypertrophy) would have some results to show for 3 months dedicated training, the word "decent" seems to be used fairly loosely. 3 months isn't going to give you a impressive figure... maybe 3 years.

Personally I couldn't see the 3 months gain's being anywhere near what I would call decent and that’s in anyone No matter how genetically gifted they where.

Well I got an A at GCSE level P.E. and I do a lot of research on the side about nutrition msucle compositionect. and I barely understood any of it and I'm not trying to be argumentative either, I just think if you're trying to explain something you should do it as simply as possible.

I assume this guy is underweight and hasn't done much weight training, and by decent, I have no idea how much weight he would put on in 3 months but normally when you start out I can go up pretty quickly.

Let's not go throwing the big gun qualifications around now gents. There was possibly one sentence in there that could have been confusing, but surely for someone interested in such subjects it should have just forced your head into the books that bit more? And you can't ignore someone by acknowledging them, it really doesn't work.

Tom - although most disregard the BMI, 18.75 is pretty close to the lower limit of the "normal" range. How long before you plan on getting the application rolling?

Fair one. This may not be the most mature/responsible approach to it, but have you ever thought about getting on a treadmill, putting it on 16 km/h (and some might advise a slight bit of incline) and just keep those legs pumping as if your life depends on it? A few sessions of that and you should be able to take it to the road and know the pace to be hitting. Just an idea if you've found you're plateauing lately.

Me neither mate... Sorry if I came across, wrong... I was just saying with a little research what was said could be easily understood.

I'm not kissing to make up either ! :P

I believe, although I could be wrong that you can gain between 1-2 Lbs of lean muscle (not over all mass!) every two weeks (very sketchy on the numbers and figure could be a week or month :-? .)

Maybe more for a complete beginner or malnourished twig

All the best

Each to their own really, some may find Spence's posts complex, but I think they are top notch.

You could learn a thing or two from his back catalogue of post's. If you think he's trying to hard to impress, just leave him be.

If you get fat and lose it, it is easier to get fat again as the fatty bits of your body have grown and adapt easier

Yeah I've had a few sessions on a treadmill but I prefer road running, I'll give your sugestion a go though, when I get to the gym on Tuesday I reckon. What would you do in my position mate, would you apply at New Year even if running is still 10 mins ish or would you wait untill running is down to the required time then apply? I'm just trying to get an idea of how to approach it all.
