Hi Guys,
I'm working towards my application is there any one in the Stourbridge area I can train with to get my fitness up to 100% to better my chances at passing the PRMC stage?
I'm managing 1.5 easy now but need to push up to the 3 miler mark...any advice too.
If any one has a good weekly fitness ragime could they let me know.
Last but not least....can any one explain what goes on in the formidible "Bottom Field" so I can best prepare.

I personally found it hard to stick to a training routine because of my other commitments so I made my own flexible one. Its nothing special but does everything you need-
Monday- run
Tuesday- Pressups, Situps, Dorsal, Pull ups and other core workous 3 times (e.g. 40 pressups morning, afternoon and nite)
Wednesday- run
Thursday- Pressups, Situps, Dorsal, Pull ups and other core workous 3 times (e.g. 40 pressups morning, afternoon and nite)
Friday- run
Saturday- Pressups, Situps, Dorsal, Pull ups and other core workous 3 times (e.g. 40 pressups morning, afternoon and nite)
Sunday- Rest day, do nothing.
Monday- run
Tuesday- Pressups, Situps, Dorsal, Pull ups and other core workous 3 times (e.g. 40 pressups morning, afternoon and nite)
Wednesday- run
Thursday- Pressups, Situps, Dorsal, Pull ups and other core workous 3 times (e.g. 40 pressups morning, afternoon and nite)

Bottom field
On that morning you will have a go at the Commando slide / zip wire.
You will then have a run through of the assault course, practising a couple of sections at a time. You will then do a timed best effort on the assault course. It will probably take you just over 3 mins, practise your sprinting.
Once everyone has finished that, then its on to the determination tests
It only lasts approx 25 mins, but is one of the toughest things I have ever done. The staff will have you doing press ups, sit ups etc, sprint 100 yds over "there", sets of excercises, sprint 200 yds over "there". When not sprinting or banging out press ups you will be running on the spot.
Its all in the head. You just have to crack on, it will end, and you will find it hard.
Then in the afternoon you have gym test 2 followed by sprints, which I found harder than the det tests.
Search for prmc diaries theres loads of info on it all.
My best advise to run good 3 milers is to run 4 or 5 miles.

RAF REGT on a par with the ROYAL MARINES?
I think not sunshine! To my knowledge the RAF REGT don't do 32 weeks Commando Training and earn the Green Beret at CTCRM.
