Newbie to the forums - A couple of questions

Post by steveg16 »

Hi there, I'm Steve. I'm 21 years old and currently doing a degree at Uni.
When I was younger my dream was to be a Royal Marine Officer. I was planning on direct entry after 6th form when I was 18 but suffered a sporting injury which put me out of training.
I had my date for POC which I then had to cancel due to the injury. I'm glad to say this is all fixed now and my physical fitness level is on track to what it was before.
While I was injured and my fitness level decreased I decided to work full time for a while and then opted to go to Uni.
I am in the process of arranging a trip to my AFCO to pick up where I left but I'd like to ask a few questions while I'm here. (I've done a quick search but didnt have much luck, maybe I'm not doing it right? lol)

How many times can you attempt the POC and AIB? Obviously I am aiming for passing both first time....

How long is a POC pass result valid for? For example, if I passed POC but failed AIB, would I have to re-do POC or is it valid for a year or so?

Finally, which month is Officer entry? I have a feeling from last time its every September but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks in advance for any information or advice which may help me.
I hope to stick around the forums and gain as much knowledge as possible from what appear to be great sources.

Regards,

Steve

One last thing, from looking at your signature it mentions a physcometric test, is this a new thing before POC? i was under the impression that these all happened at AIB :-?
