Trainasium
Hi Guys i am soon wanting to join the paras i know i have a great level of fitness and i think im ready for it and cant wait to apply. i am just s##t scared of the trainasium. How high is it please?? do you get to have a practice run before you do it on p-coy?? thanks alot to anyone who replys!!
On my recruitment DVD it says the Trainasium is about the same size as a 2/3 storey building. But I dont know how accurate the infomation is (about 1 year old) maybe better to get a accurate answer from one of the PTI's there like Sandy The Guv. That's the thing I'm most scared of too mate, I keep thinking if I miss one one bars and fall off

There's safety nets so that if you fall through the bars you will be ok, even at the highest point, ie the shuffle bars, you wont fall all the way down if you did manage to come off them.Tom163 wrote:Thats the thing im most scared of too mate, I keep thinking if I miss one one bars and fall off![]()

I've only done the low part but it was pretty easy really, but then I'm not frightened of heights, all you have to do is attack it with confidence and you will be fine. One lad did fall off but it was because he was flapping a bit and the more you hesitate the more likely you are to make a mistake, if you just keep going you'll be fine.

When did they put nets on the trainasium?
It must obviously be quite nerve wracking but hopefully not as bad as a one Private Golden makes out:

Nobody's scared of heights mate its just the fear of falling! But I reckon if you think your going to fall then you will, if you believe your going to be fine then you will, probably the more you think about the risk of falling the more likely you are to fall! I know it's easy for me to say because I haven't done it yet or anything but a good mate of mine is a Para and that's what he said so I'm just really saying what he said! Good luck either way!
