Applying for university bursary - any advice?

Post by fredster_001 »

Hi,
I am currently doing my A-levels and am applying for a bursary through university, to hopefully go on to be an officer in the infantry.

I was looking for any advice on the interviews, fitness and any other comments people would like to share about the process.

Thanks

Recently did AOSB myself and am booked to go to Sandhurst in May 2008 with a view to (hopefully) become an infantry officer. If you've got any specific questions about the application process feel free to ask/ PM me. I wasn't a bursary holder at University but I've got friends who are/ were so I can try my best on that front...

Hoping to join the PWRR (my local regiment). I'd say I'm set on the Army now but I don't regret looking at the Royal Marines and would advise anyone with similar aspirations to do the same. Afterall, if you're looking to join an infantry unit you should definitely consider all the options whether it's light role, mechanised, armoured, air assault or commando/ amphibious (RM) :)

Aren't the PWRR SE England? Your location says Aberystwyth? How is that local? I'm not trying to call you out, just wondering.

I graduated from Aberystwyth this summer. I've recently moved back home to the 'sarf'. Just changed my location to avoid confusion...

Ahhh, that makes much more sense then. Cool, good choice of regiment. Good luck with everything.
