Groin Strain

Post by Hughser »

I'm currently battling with quite a severe groin strain, it seems to be fairly persistant from the 8 weeks or more I've had it.. its noticable during my running, swimming and more so during situps.
I've had to put my phys on the sideline for today after overdoing it yesterday. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with treating groin strain and realisticly, how long it will take to heal?

I've been whacking 400mg Profen down me neck and using Deep Heat on it daily. To add to the dilemma, I've got a PJFT in 3 weeks.

Any advice is apprechiated,
Cheers,
Hughser

Personnally id take the next 3 weeks off from phys then reasses at that point your fitness as to whether or not you think you can do the pjft .

To keep battling on with phys with such a persistant problem is only going to make it worse. Take the time out the long term damage could seriously harm your military ambitions and a PJFT can always be re booked.

If you haven't been already (I'm guessing you have) then get to the doctor's, they can give you even stronger anti-inflammatory for stuff like that... I used some for me neck when I hurt it a while back. the stuff I used got rid of the strain in a week.

not saying it's a miracle pill or anything just better than Profen .

If you really want PM me and I’ll find the name of it out... still got a box of it down stairs just incase. Then ask the doc about it, don't no weather that will help or not.

Also a mate of mine who play's football for a local league 1 team's (port fail or something I believe there called :-? ) academy had a groin strain and was receiving acupuncture for it, that also might be worth a look into.

best of luck with it all

Go see a Doc. I'm guessing you've decided it's a groin strain - best to go and get a professional opinion in case it's more serious.

Regards,
Greg.
