Corps Commission
Corps Commission
Evening guys,
I have read on this site some brief information on Marines earning a corps commission if they show the right qualities. (Artist, I beleive it was you who mentioned it). Does anyone have a little more information on this? Would a corps commission be an opportunity to undertake POC and AIB or does it bypass this process and effectively give the recruit a ticket into YO training?
The reason i ask is that I am a graduate who would like to join as a recruit but I would like to know whether there is the chance of a commission later on if I show the right qualities. I have no idea if I would show these qualities, but hypothetically could a recruit who does very well in the early stages of his career gain a corps commission? Im keen on entering as a recruit at this stage but like many others would like to know if that elusive RM commission is a possibility for the hard working recruit in the early stages of his career. I do apologise if this has been covered before, but I would like some fresh opinions.
Artist, I would appreciate your views on this matter.
Cheers
Will

Although I am not a graduate, I do have four A-levels and am also hoping to gain a Core Commision at some stage, if I have the required attributes!
But regarding your quiery about if you bypass POC and AIB, you don't. You still have to do these. When I was in RT I was speaking to a guy who was in week 22 and he got asked to go on POC. So you can get picked up early considering you have the potential.
Hope this helps.

Arent "Corps" and "Core" pronounced the same - how could you tell how he was spelling it from the way he said it? Maybe he was saying "Cor", as in "Cor Blimey Guvnor..."alee9 wrote:I was speaking to to CSgt who was running PRMC and who also runs POC and he was saying Core Commission.
