Before anyone else says it, use the search button, you'll find all the answers using that.
Welcome to the forums anyway.
And by the way, the PJFT (1.5 mile) has to be run in 10 minutes now, its recently been changed.

hey buddy,
ill give you some help, your running time, you'll want to improve because you can never be fast enough, in your prmc it depends of the pti you have, he will predict the pace, if you fail the tests, you'll be flipping burgers for the rest of your life because there is no other use for you. For your prmc, take what you want, don't be stupid and pack 5 million things i took a backpack with me and thats about it. As for tips, you just gotta shut up and listen and then apply everything you learn, don't f@#k around and you won't get hurt.

someone said PJFT 10 mins, isnt that kinda fast?

i havnt been on tradmill sinse they all seem too small for me(leg length long) so havnt a clue what a raod time goes when running on tread.

i can do 1.3 miles in about 8:45-9.00 and do 2 miles in 14:15-14:30.

is the treadmill run incline or normal?

p.s is distance still same ie 1.5 miles

the distance is still the same, the lengthened the time to get more people in but since that just meant more were failing, they decided to do the smart thing and take out all the fat asses. running on the treadmill is simple and if anything easier then running on the road, all you have to do is move your legs so you don't fall

^^ lol thanks, im a horrid treadmill runner sinse i never been on one except for my terrible PJFT, i in a way glad about the new time sinse at least if you fail the PJFT you know you ant going to make a fool out of yourself by going to PRMC under- prepared.

10 mins seems possible, sinse it flat surface, though when i went on treadmill the speed settings seems a little slow even when maxed out,

could someone tell me what setting you need to have on most of the time to make 9:45 time?

thanks

mate i ran it the other day in the gym and ran part at 14kmh rest at 16kmh min i would run at is 14kmh you want to work hard on your anarobic fittness before you join the corps people tend to think running ten mile runs etc will prepare you better but thats wrong run short fast runs and the ocasional slogger

yer i agree there, i tend to do short runs ie 3 miles atm, usealy uphill with short sprints on earch uphill section, this i find hard but makes progress fast.

tryign to get running on tredmill before PJFT, but atm gyms i find are proper exspencive to even get in. ie you have to do special course on the gym before even allowed on gear, then you have to buy a medical test from them then you finaly can buy the time slot to use the treadmill.

if the worst case il just keep sprints on road then go into PJFT again like i did before without trying tredmills properly, hopefuly road running will prepare you enough,,,, like you said just gota keep feet going and dont fall off.:)

Don't want to be pedantic - but if you are unsure of the times/pace you should be running and working hard at your CV - and jump on a treadmill once every 2 weeks or so and run at comfortorbale-to-hard pace and learn yourself.

Don't get into the mindset of if I run at 'x' pace I will pass. Push yourself until you are good at running below the target times.

I did my PJFT last week and got 9.09, they will have a quide sheet what tells you how fast you need to go. Think i was running 15.5 for the majority of the way and thats suposed to get you 9.45. Not 100% sure though.
