By the way, for the confused, Vertigo is not a fear of heights
Vertigo, a specific type of dizziness, is a major symptom of a balance disorder. It is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is stationary with respect to the earth or surroundings. With the eyes shut, there will be a sensation that the body is in movement, called subjective vertigo; if the eyes are open, the surroundings will appear to move past the field of vision, called objective vertigo.

PRMC

Post by flashman »

Hello all, I'm Robin but on these things I like to go by the name of flashman (G.M.Fraser's character!).

I've recently finished uni and will be putting in for my PRMC in July (hopefully!), should I take my own pair of Borneo boots? they're brown, will this matter?

Also, and to my shame, I was done for drink driving in Feb (07) will this affect my chances of getting in?

Ok...

Learn to iron

Learn to map read

Learn the Corps history

Generally read more about the career you're going for.

Erm... You could try hardening your feet. Wipe meths over them, in between the toes etc. If you do this, do it outside or in a very well ventilated place.

That's all I've got for you at the moment.

"With the eyes shut, there will be a sensation that the body is in movement, called subjective vertigo; if the eyes are open, the surroundings will appear to move past the field of vision, called objective vertigo" - Is it just me... But does that sound exactly like when you've had a few too many!?

Alright Robin. Welcome to MFAT :D

MFAT isn't usually like this... telling each other to get a life and all that malarky. You asked a question about Royal Marines, so you should try the Royal Marines forum.

You will be given a pair of boots when you get to PRMC. They are broken in very well. The only people who took their own boots on my PRMC were people who used to be in the marines. Identicle boots... just in better condition.

You will have to ask your AFCO about the driving ban.

Check out the Royal Marines section... It's f*ckin' excellent.

Start getting up early around 5/6 o clock your body clock'll be used to it then and you'll be less tired during the training then people who aren't used to getting up early.
