So what do you think ?
Personally I hope Mayweather gets slapped all round the ring for being so arrogant. However, I can't see it happening, De La Hoya may be one of the best fighers to grace this earth but he's getting on a bit and Mayweather is a clever fighter.

De La Hoya vs Mayweather
Look's to be a cracking fight, saw a half an hour thing on sky called 24/7 and it was about the two fighters and there training camps/history.
I have always admired mayweather since I first came across him, personally I'm not much for his cocky ways and "trash talking" ( I’m more old fashioned in that I like to see two fighters respecting each other) but you have to remember Muhammad Ali had the gift of the gab and was fairly cocky too, he also had the skill's to back it up and I believe mayweather has... more than can be said for Prince Nazime (Spelling?).
I just think the way he goes at his training and fighting is impeccable and from his past you can see he hsa a heart of a lion, as his childhood was not a great one but one he made it work.
De La Hoya is a top fighter and he has proved his worth time and time again. I too admire him and his attitude and skill but he is older and this could play against him (or with him) who knows, I'm sure it will be entertaining and worth the watch!

'Prince' Naseem was an arsehole - end of, he should still be in prison for what he did but he isn't.
He once nearly made the mistake of getting too cocky with Nigel Benn, i would have love to have read about or seen a video of that show down - Naseem wouldn't of had a face or a body left, Benn would have owned him.
Ali was in a class of his own - totally different.
Above all though, boxing is a sport for warriors and nothing more. You dont 'play' boxing, theres no time outs and even when there is, you're either on your back or on one knee in serious pain. No one is going to take your place so you can step back if you slow up, its one of the only sports in the world where your opponent is going out there with the sole intent (most of the time) of destroying you, and by that i mean winning!
Those who willingly put themselves out there to fight better people, or people who are considered better than themselves deserve respect and admiration from the boxing community - because thats what its all about, unfortunately alot of corruption goes on in boxing.
Those who only go for the opponents they KNOW they can beat are only kidding themselves and getting ready for a kick in the arse.
All the best everyone.

Have to agree with you there, Especially the Naseem statement and the one about Ali, but I really think that both of these fighters are true warriors and it will be a good fight, true to say they aren't in the same league as Ali... think we are going o be waiting a long, long, long time until we see someone as good as if not better that Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard is probably one of few who could put up a decent argument to say he was in the same class as Ali weather he was better pound for pound I think it would be daft to even try and work out (like the Marines vs. Para’s or SAS vs. SBS just plain pointless)'Prince' Naseem was an arsehole - end of, he should still be in prison for what he did but he isn't.

Ali was not only a clas of his own he was funny with his comments and a pretty gifted poet/lyricist.
Unfortunately I think your right Mayweather won't get slapped round the ring but such is life.
As for pound for pound Sugar Ray Robinson is probably my pound for pound. But there are so many to make a decent argument.
