Inside the Jihad: My Life with Al Qaeda

Most descriptions of this book fall short. Most names have been changed as the author recounts how he came to work for the DGSE from Belgium, later travelling to Afghanistan to train in camps with mujahidins for a year, then back to Europe and London, working in conjunction between DGSE, MI-5 and SIS.

Definitely recommended, particularly for the description of life and training regimen in the Afghanistan camps.

Know the enemy.

i'll have a look, cheers.

Another couple that I could recommend are:

al Qaeda: the True Story of Radical Islam by Jason Burke, and Insrugent Iraq: al Zarqari and the New Generation by Lorretta Napoleoni.
