Joining for the girls? I got thinned out by my Ex for joining the Marines. Thats a silly reason for joining. It's the Bootneck mentality and personality that girls love.
THinking about leaving already!

It saddens me how selfish some of you are, i mean joining the royal marines because its a challenge?, your reasons should be to protect and serve this country and to help people who need help. yeah sure the Marines is a challenge but that shouldn't be your reason and as the for the idiot who said he wants to join because he can get girls, lol get a life but just not in the marines you'll make them look bad. Unselfishness is part of the RM Ethos which mean you should be unselfish. this is just my opinion though so don't take it personal :D

The "idiot" as you put it, is Felias. Felias is currently a Royal Marine, therefore his opinions are far from idiocy.

Rittefski wrote:Being a pascifist 8) I'm not joining to kill terrorists or taliban, I'm joining for the girls. I heard Marines get lots of girls  , and God knows I'm not getting any at the moment  .

p.s. make LOVE not WAR
I'm refering to this guy I dunno if he's a Royal Marine but but it says under his post that his PRMC is on the 24th of April if this is true then he's not a Royal Marine, he maybe joking though if he is then i'll apologize.
Also felias seems to think that joining the Royal Marines for girls is a silly idea :D

Try using a Spell Checker DANTAE. If you want to join any of the Armed Forces your going to have to learn all about spelling and the correct use of upper and lower case letters. You could fail the English NAMET and be binned you know?

Hi Kentaganus, its the 'idiot' here :D. I was indeed joking, I thought that was pretty obvious but I suppose its quite easy to get the wrong end of the stick on internet forums. I totally agree with you and Felias joining the Royal Marines for girls is silly, nay idiotic. I was just attempting to live up to another part of the Royal Marine ethos, Humour. Obviously I didn't pull it off . I shall refrain from anymore attempts :(.

No hard feelings (I'm used to being called an idiot). :D

hmm...i disagree its selfish to join because its a challenge. i mean, you can protect and serve (which i want to do), your country in any other part of the military. I want to fight on the ground, and be part of the elite BECAUSE, it's tough, if all i wanted to do was protect and serve, i could just join the army regiment which would be easier to get into.

but no- aswell as serving, i want the challenge, i want it to be tough, and i want to be best of the best. Am I so selffish?

A challenge. Ive lived in England for about 3 years (out of 20) so serving my country can hardly go into it. Its hardly selfish.
