Missing an exercise

Post by Beowulf »

I thought I had is sussed and planned the next six months around the RMR weekend exercises, so what do they go and do? Change the friggin weekends!

This leaves me a bit snookered as I am defo going to miss a weekend, it's Hunter's Moon as well which I believe is the intro to night navigation. A quite important one as well.

Blast, does anyone know what I can do to make up this valuable part of training? I guess you would be able to go through it on a drill night with an instructor but it's hardly the same.

Will ask the training team but I was wondering if it would it be possible to get on another RMR units HM weekend? Anyone know if this has been done before?

Any help appreciated?

Thanks,

Wulf

Hi mate, sorry i dropped off the radar after promising you that running program . . . . .

From what the Sgt said during the admin lecture, it's possible to miss two weekends, three at a push so i don't know whether you'll be set back too far. It's map reading as far as I know on HM and that you can practice any weekend. I'm more than happy to put you up if you want to come down and go out on to the Purbecks . . . it's not unlike woodbury common you know (bar the nudist beach :D )

As for the program, not really been following it much as I've been cracking my own phys but once the marathon is out of the way I reckon I'll give it whirl. I am trying to run in boots at least once a week however.

I'll write up the program tonight and mail it.

How are things btw? Training going well?

I wouldn't worry too much about missing the EX.

For the remainder of training there will be countless opportunities for you to navigate a section at night. Explain to your TT you missed Hunters Moon and would appreciate the practice at navigating for your section because of this.

You can also get out and practice in your own time.

Rich.

Thanks chaps, I guess I don't need to worry too much. As you quite rightly say I will get plenty of opportunities to catch up during training and out and about on me tod.

TT will defo have to sort something out soon mate.

Yeah sure. I'll check with the boss about free weekends and we can work around that.
