These days it don't seem to matter who or where your trained to be a Infantryman. Your going to find yourself at the pointed end anyway.

As has been said most blokes who do the AACC are from units like the RA, RE, Royal Sigs, REME, RLC, Plus a smatering of blokes from the odd infantry unit, normally Commisioned Ranks, 40CDORM had a Lt/Capt from the Argyle and Southerland Highlanders to keep alive the fact that during WW2 the Bootneck detachments from the the Renown and Prince of Wales were amalgamated with the remains of this Unit in Singarpore after those two ships were sunk at the start of the war with Japan.

As to the Rifles becoming Cdo trained. Some NCO's as far as I am aware have done the AACC, but as to whether they will ever become a fully intergrated part of 3 CDOBDRM I know not.

Sorry just catching the tail end of this briefly...
If you want to be trained as a Commando then join(or rather try to join)the Royal Marines, they will sort you out no problem if you can hack it!

Although on the other hand if your still interested in still going for Infantry in the Army The Rifles 1bn is being attached to 3cdo so in theory thats sort of an Army Commando role.. just depends on how the commanders of 3cdo wish to use them.
