HAC questions....

Post by plastic »

hello all, not sure if im in the right forum here but here goes.
-im thinking of joining a patrol sqn of the HAC, was wondering how often they go away on "trips" and for how long (looking for regular work you see)?
-what are the pay scales? (ive asked that because you have to hand in your rank slide and am assuming there would be a financial incentive for NCOs)

Cheers, Plastic

The Hac is an oddity .Better off talking to them directly .They do do tours in role .And their patrol course is tough .If your looking for fiancial
gain might not be the unit for you as they recruit heavily from the city .
Maybe an overhill stab but not ready to hang
my kit in yet .If not quite death from the flanks
certainly a nasty fright.:)

Hello mate and welcome aboard.

After talking to one of HAC recruitment officers at London Soldier last year I went to a presentation evening to see what the score is, it was pretty good plus they plied me with free booze for most of the evening which was a bonus.

The Patrol Squadron/STA course looks pretty interesting and quite a challenge. I believe they run it twice a year, but don’t quote me on this though. I was also very impressed by the facilities, the sporting activities that you can get involved in was phenomenal.

Can't help with on the pay and deployment side so apologies but from what I saw I thought the HAC was a very interesting regiment.

All the best with it!

HAC?

Special Forces?

Perhaps someone could explain how HAC is regarded as a Special Forces unit?

Or are we on the American outlook, where everyone can be so called.

The post is in the special forces forum, therefore implying they're special forces.

opening line of this thread as follows.....

'hello all, not sure if im in the right forum here but here goes. '

Implication is that he did not think it was a special forces topic but posted it anyway looking for advice.

Thanks for your time _chris,now go back to sleep.

All I was saying is why I assume Rover made his post, I didn't post any opinion, people get the forums wrong at first, I did everyone will. You said that noone had alluded them to being so, the posts placement in the 'special forces' forum alludes to it being special forces.

Not when you read the opening line of the guys post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o
As they say in the houses of parliament......
I refer the honourable gentleman to the statement I made a moment ago!

opening line of this thread as follows.....

Did you read that this time _chris?

Yes its an SF forum but the guys opening line clearly negates it from being considered an SF subject matter.

Thanks for your time _chris,now go back to sleep.

Try reading the post rather than being blinded by the name of the forum.

 But I didn't make the point did I?? As I have explained I was merely saying why someone may have thought it was being refered to as special forces, and why they may have made that point.

Read that this time did you?

Alright I didn't explain thatfully in my first post but I did in my second having realised you read it in a way I hadn't intended. You then continue to act as if I had made the original post.

I had already read this topic and continued without making a point, as I had no problem with it being in the wrong forum, due to the opening line you feel the need to keep reposting.

Try following your own advice, read the posts.
