this could be incorrect but my afco said that jumps arent canceled as there has been such an increase in the amount of people joining the paras that powers that be have scrapped this idea but there is a backlog. That means recruits might be waiting a while before jumps training but you will get your wings para pay etc. This could be bullshit from my afco to make sure i still join but shes been straight so far so I believe her.

Liam, it seems that nobody knows what is going on at the moment. We've been told four different things at 4 PARA at different times. Likelyhood is that this means the powers that be are pissing around with the final decision, so only policy is wait and see.

Hear hear. For me, P-Coy is the bit where you prove yourself, not jumping out of planes, I've done that already (though granted, not with 5000 kilos of kit attached). Penguins still wear maroon

If you are a reg though, I would be pissed at the loss of Para pay. If they are going to do this, they should attach Para pay to having passed P-Coy, not getting your wings.

It was when it was a simple pass or fail.

It is still a simple pass or fail? Not all the events are pass/fail, but the course is as far as I know?

Yeah, I know, wishful thinking. More like, what, 8000?

I meant refusing to jump Sarastro, not P-Coy.

What I'm saying is, now that the jumps course will be conducted when you're already in Battalion, the pass/fail element is now kind of redundant. (for the time being)
