Our leave is the weekend before to the weekend after with Easter bang in the middle. Often not the same for Lympstone, but in this case an educated guess would say it is...

I can confirm it's definately the 29th. We had to fill in our travel warrant requests this week.

you have done your leave passes... we havnt been given them though they stagger all the diffrent troops coming out of ctc for secrity reasons these days. So there will be a little diffrence.

Joe allen... if that is allicen hen he left last week. think he is taking the army route to be a mechnic.

Our troop keeps being seen off as we havent had a decent long weeked and lossing this next one to go to france so little frustrated       ......

just finished week 13 which is the best week in rt apreantly. (granadads, gas chamber, dunker drills, chinok drills and bottem field) so all fun and games

Home Leave

Post by Ste Preece »

I remember going home on my first bought of leave. I was so used to being on my toes and on the ball I couldn't sit still. Like you do, I might add.

After my first nights sleep I got up out of bed and made a bedpack. I don't know why I did it, I just did it without giving it too much thought. Yes I know sad git. He he.

Although I drank lots of beer on leave, I still made sure I went for a run everyday. It is good to stay on top of this so you don't have issues clearing the cobwebs out of your system on your return.

Out of interest do they still make the recruits fold their shirts and wooly pullies the same size as the Globe & Laurel Magazine? Also: Do they still use the photograph of a locker that you have to match with your kit or have they now made this a little more user friendly?

Also: we didn't have bank accounts in the very early 80's and used to get paid cash. I was given my first 50 pound note as part of my wages. I took it home and bought a beer with in in the local pub. From that day on, the locals thought us bootnecks were absolutely minted.

Unfortunately we weren't but it was funny at the time. :D

Regards

Steve

alrite steve,
yeh they still fold everything to globe and laurel , and theres a demonstration locker in foundation that you have to model your locker on and then remember afterwards.
