Hi. I applied to join the army last year, but was rejected due to a perforated ear drum, now hopefully that will all be sorted out through an operation very soon, and there won't be any further problems on that front (touch wood). My main concern though is that I might be too old, or at least feel out of place. I'm currently 23 and I expect that I'll be nearly if not 24 by the time that enlist, and I'm just wondering if I'm going to feel out of place with lots of 17/18 year olds around. This is something that I've wanted to do for a long time now, and would hate for it to be ruined because I felt like the old man in the corner. Any advice you can give would be gratefully received.
P.S. I get on very easily with other people, and don't really expect it to be a problem, just trying not to sound like a fuss pot here.

Am I to old?
Not at all, the maximum recruitment age is over 30, so you will get people far older than yourself in the Army.
People who goto University before joining the military (such as myself) will be 22+
I'm sure age wouldn't create too much (if any) of a social barrier, you say you've wanted it for a long time so give it a go.
Good luck..
