Using psychic powers to find weapons? What if the psychic was wrong?

Agh! I hate the word "loopy".

Interesting read though.

I think was the point in the study, to find out if this was feasible and/or reliable. I think it's interesting that someone somewhere thinks there is a valid enough case for psychic abilities in order to prompt such a study in the first place.

Makes you wonder what else they are looking into as well.
If you are into sado-masochism, necrophilia and bestiality...are you flogging a dead horse?

I suppose. But to find if somebody had weapons on them, wouldn't it be a better use of money to buy those hand held metal detecters?

Oh I don't know...you never know do you? Psychic abilities have been well documented since records began, perhaps there is something to it after all?

There's all sorts of things we don't fully understand yet with regards to the human brain and consciousness.

i remember reading somewhere that the CIA had invested in research into psychic assasination during WW2 i think.

they basicly paid a bunch of nut jobs to sit in a barn and try to kill animals by looking at them.

The Men Who Stare at Goats

Post by digitalfreefall »

American military paranoia at its most extreme, insane, amusing -- and alarming Why are they blasting Iraqi prisoners-of-war with the theme tune to Barney the Purple Dinosaur? And why have 100 de-bleated goats been secretly placed inside the Special Forces command centre at Fort Bragg, North Carolina? In 1979 a secret unit was established by the most gifted minds within the US Army. Defying both military practice and the laws of physics, they believed a soldier could become invisible, pass through walls and, perhaps most chillingly, kill goats just by staring at them. With first-hand access to the leading players in the story, Ronson has traced the evolution of these bizarre activities over the past three decades, and poses questions no-one else has yet dared to ask about which of them -- and more -- are happening still.
