New to the site
Hey guys new to the site. First off just like to say thanks to everyone some of the topics here are really helpful and inspiring you guys convinced me to quit smoking ok its only been 4 days but I feel confident. I still have a long way to go.
At the moment it looks a bit like this
1.5m 14min!!
Push-Ups 25-30
Sit-Ups 35-40
Chin-Ups 6-7
And as for the 3 miler tried got about 2.5 miles almost died and crawled home think I will stick to the 1.5m until my fitness starts to improve.
Just wondering if anyone has got any success story’s coming back from super unfitness.

Mate I couldnt run a mile in August, now my bests are 3m - 19:55 and 1.5 9:15. Still plenty of room for improvement, but you get the idea.
Just keep at it and your times will get better. I would suggest pushing your distance a bit, not just doing 1.5. If as you say at the moment you can only manage 2.5miles, then keep doing 2.5. It will get easier!

Hi, welcome to the forum. You just have to keep trying, putting the physical effort and most importantly, the mental effort in. Eventually you will get better, you have to.crazed2005 wrote:Hey guys new to the site. I would just like to ask one question though. How did you get to 'super unfitness' in the first place??
All the best.

Haha! Ok then fair play to yacrazed2005 wrote:Well smoking drink and I never really had a reason to stay fit but in the past 3 months I have been looking at the army and marines and I really think it’s the life for me but super unfit was probable an exaggeration
Its not so much about trying to become a 'super man' fitness wise. I'll go back on what others have said. Sure you need to get fit but you also have to have the mental power to push yourself. I believe the harder you train, the more this will develop if you really want to succeed for this. Having the right outlook from the start is a big advantage as you will soon learn the importance of a strong mind if and/or when you get into training, and your soaked to the bone, freezing cold, tired, hungry and you still want to go on and finish whatever it is you've set out to do in training.
Thats the sh!t right there.
Thats what the lads on here will tell you, if not more.

I came back from much, much worse (much). Take it slow, build up gradually, get as much variety into your training as possible. In the end, it will be the quicker route by avoiding injury etc, and the fitness you gain will have more permanency.crazed2005 wrote:Just wondering if anyone has got any success story’s coming back from super unfitness.
