POC Tommorrow
ok yea i will write a brief account of what we did there.
Arrived on sunday night around 1700 and just got myself sorted out. Went up to the mess to keep up with current affairs etc for the rest of the night. Most of the other guys arrived about an hour after me so we all got to know each other and then monged out in the tv room for a bit.
Woke up around 0615 for an 0645 breakfast on monday morning after that just milled around until around 9 where we had a brief, then we were issued our kit water bottles etc. Once all that was finished with it was the RMFA the warm up wasn't at all horrendus just a few sprints round the hall etc. Then straight into the bleep test. I got 11.5 on this which was a good few levels below what i am used to getting maybe it was nerves or something. After that it is pressups make sure you go right down to your oppos fist or you will get no points for the pressup. I scored 47 on this however i did more repetitions they just didnt touch my oppos fist. Then situps again watch your technique i got 77 situps alot of guys got 85. Then pullups again practise these with a bit of a pause at the top i achieved 8pullups. After that we went for scran and then I believe it was essay writing, academically I feel I wasn't prepared enough for this as the topics we were given I didn't feel strong on any of them. During the essay you will be took in for an interview just brush up on corps knowledge etc for this. That is monday over
On tuesday you are up at about 0600 again for breakfast at 0645 then after breakfast into your green kit and you start the morning session. Starts with the tarzan assault aquaint basically the death slide first which is nothing major, after this it is the punch into net, I slipped on my first attempt at this and just fell to the floor so make sure you give it lots of agression. Then onto the bottom field session which basically meant you were not stood still for the whole session you do a variety of sprints the assault course a few times lots of crawling crab walking etc, then the logs come out they aren't too heavy just get them round the assault course as a team. Then the big logs come out you have to do a variety of exercises with these from things like shoulder pressing them bicep curls situps then crab walking pushing the log along leopard crawling pushing the log uphill etc. All not too good fun but I guess you have to stick at it. I picked up a knock on my knee on the assault course which unusually made my right leg completly numb for a few minutes so i had to go around again for my timed go. You then go onto the ropes we had to crawl across to the middle do puulups and a regain however everyone fell in and the water was COLD. That was the end of bottom field. Next lecturettes nothing really to be said about them just talk really. Then the endurance course, you get thrashed a little at the beginning and you stop for regular pressups situps etc aswell as 'taking cover' ie crawling in the foulest mud imagineable. I dropped out just before the smarty tubes I have regretted it ever since but my knees were in alot of pain and because of this my body was shaking with pain every time we stopped. Consequently I went to the hospital yesterday evening as the pain was getting worse and it turns out I have sprained something I've never heard of aswell as bruising another bone I'd never heard of aswell as something to do with cartiledge damage on my other knee? Still I am going to get fit again and I am determined to crack it next time.
