Try that, if not try this forum and ask the guys there. They really know their stuff.

I'm not sure

I buggered myself up a while ago in the gym trying to do pullups with 30kgs on my back. My brain wasn't engaged and so didn't realise that my back wouldn't be able to take the new weight when gravity returned me to the floor.

Just been doing some of the stretches on one of the sites and it actually seems to have helped. Other than that, i'v never experienced any lower back pain, honest! :o

I had something that sounds similar.

Once the pain starts, does it hurt when running up hill?

Mine didnt and the problem was extremely tight rectus femus (one of the muscles that makes up the hip flexor). In my case, probably caused from sitting at a desk all day and loads of situps - as both shorthen the hip flexor. I now stretch this everyday and it has helped immensely.

Too much sitting on my arse aswell. It makes running a bastard. When RT comes around there wont be as much sitting so it might go away (i'm hoping)

For me its the psoas muscle running down my lower back

If anyone has some decent exercises for strengthening/stretching this muscle please give me a shout.

I remember Jonathan Ross complaining about his psoas muscle on his show a while back... You could try emailing him for advice at jonathan.ross@bbc.co.uk or phone him on Radio 2.

I have been doing the kneeling lunge looking stretch shown on this page with good results. That is a good site in general for training IMO.

I think I have exactly the same pain ramz56, at first, I though it was because of my hernia that I had taken out when I was little but now it is hurting a little on the other leg, I'm going to go to that link now thanks.
