...Part 1: The British - Welcome to Hell

"Any moment now the air would erupt in a volcanic outburst of tracer fire, grenade explosions and the terrifying sound of men screaming, shooting, killing - and dying - at close range"

The subtle click and soft fizz of a trip flare igniting in the middle of the night are enough to wake a man from sleep, but not quite loud enough to jolt him out of his dreams. And that night, as we slept in our boots by the side of the Helmand River, most of us were dreaming of the Taliban.

I was with 17 British soldiers on the edge of a town called Garmser, in the southern Afghan province of Helmand.....
enjoy... :)

I wonder how many people who sign up for the TA ever expect to get into that kind of firefighting (except the ex-squaddies that is). I think its great that they get to do the job they are trained for, so the MOD aren't just wasting a sh*tload of money training weekend warriors to play paintball like most people think they do.

It's interesting.

I often read another military forum made up mainly of serving/exserving army personnel and from what i see, they think the programme was very good. From what they say (i can't speak from experience) its as close as they've seen to what it's really like.

Intresting program nice to see the estonians were riding around in armoured vechicles while I guys had wmik .Espically as those mambas had been sold off by mod .At least the taliban weren't using them.
Maybe an overhill stab but not ready to hang

I wouldnt be suprised if the taliban had their hands on the same sort of weapons the british forces are using, as they get enough funding (weapons and IED's) from bloody Iran and syria. I think bush should get in and give Iran a good regulating now.

Do a google about iran's armed forces and then get back to us :D .If the taliban have decent funding probably can buy better kit as I cant see
them listening to the charlatans from bae :D .

Skaggy injectors on our streets, money goes a long way!

On a slightly seperate issue, it was nice to see how much coke the RN seized in the carribean. Bloody stuff is everywhere over here now.
